Making waves with its imaginative clothes since 1999, ELM Design draws on the talents of three strong Icelandic women - Erna, Lísbet and Matthildur.

Trained in art, design and psychology, their philosophy to fashion is refreshingly simple: To produce elegant, unusual clothes for women, you need to understand women. What Erna, Lísbet and Matthildur were able to bring to the ELM label was their own distinctive feminine perspective.

As the label's mission indicates, these are clothes designed for women by women. ELM's creations are soft, striking and always sophisticated with earthy tones and feminine lines.

ELM var stofnað árið 1999 af þremur fatahönnuðum. Vinkonum, sem létu draum sinn rætast. Nafnið ELM er einmitt myndað úr upphafsstöfum þeirra Ernu Steinu Guðmundsdóttur, Lísbet Sveinsdóttur og Matthildi Halldórsdóttur.

ELM selur vörur sínar víða um heim og hefur fengið góðar viðtökur, hvort sem er í versluninni á Laugavegi 1, í New York, París eða London.

Hjá ELM er lagður metnaður í að framleiða úr gæðaefnum, bæði í prjónavöru og saumuðum fatnaði. Markmiðið hjá þeim er að hanna fatnað, sem hver einstaklingur mótar að sínum karakter, óháð ströngustu tískustraumum.
